Audi Sales Satisfaction Growth Outpaces Industry, J.D. Power Notes

HERNDON, Va. ,  Nov 20, 2008  -  Audi’s consumer sales satisfaction ranking improved by an industry-leading six positions in 2008, according to data released by J.D. Power and Associates.  The improvement caps a three year rise of over 30 index points by Audi, as measured in satisfaction from retail purchasers and lessees of new cars and light trucks.

AUDI AG: Sales Growth in October

INGOLSTADT, Germany ,  Nov 10, 2008  -  Audi sold some 82,400 automobiles to customers worldwide in October. Sales of the premium brand thus rose 7.2 percent in year-on-year comparison. During the first ten months of 2008, the Ingolstadt carmaker sold approximately 844,700 vehicles, up 3.3 percent on the same period last year. Audi registered growth both in the European as well as in the emerging Asian markets. Audi Chairman Rupert Stadler said: “Audi is performing well, but our corporate performance is increasingly influenced by declining markets.”

Audi October Sales A New Record

HERNDON, Va. ,  Nov 3, 2008  -  Audi today announced sales for the month of October totaling 7,443, an increase of 0.3 percent.  This follows on a robust September when the luxury brand attained an all-time record share of the luxury sector.  Strong performances from the A5, A8, R8 and all-new A4 models contributed to the October increase. Audi new vehicle sales are down only 3.5 percent year-to-date as the company contends with a double-digit decline in the luxury market due to the softening economy.

SANTA MONICA, Cal. ,  Oct 21, 2008  -  With the streets and highways of America as its driving course, Audi proved clean diesel passes the real-world test. Completing the cross country Mileage Marathon, Audi's TDI fleet not only redefined diesel as a ultra-low emission alternative to gas-powered vehicles, but also posted noteworthy fuel efficiency numbers. Covering over 4800 miles from New York to Santa Monica, the Audi A3 TDI has averaged 45 mpg, the Audi A4 vehicles averaged 36 mpg over the drive, and the Audi Q5 TDI vehicles averaged 32 mpg. The Audi Q7 TDI vehicles, clean diesel SUVs which will be the first TDI vehicles available in the Unites States early next year, averaged an excellent 28 mpg over the entire drive.

Mileage Marathon Confirms Efficiency of Audi Models

INGOLSTADT/SANTA MONICA ,  Oct 21, 2008  -  The Audi Mileage Marathon, now completed, has provided convincing evidence of the efficiency of TDI engine technology. The fuel consumption of all 23 models in this 7,865-kilometer (4,887-mile) test was excellent.  In its first tough road test since it was announced, the Audi Q7 3.0 TDI with ultra low emission system performed outstandingly well: the world's cleanest diesel scored a best average fuel consumption of 7.1 l/100 km (33.13 US mpg).

Mileage Marathon: Perfection in Efficiency

INGOLSTADT/LAS VEGAS ,  Oct 17, 2008  -  The Audi Mileage Marathon is now into its third, decisive stage: when the fleet of 23 vehicles reaches Las Vegas, it will have completed about three-quarters of the total distance. In each successive stage, these cars from four Audi model lines have confirmed their exceptional fuel economy. The excellent results from the Audi A4 3.0 TDI quattro set a fine example: although its V6 TDI engine performs so well, its fuel consumption has been as low as 5.3 liters per 100 kilometers (44.38 US mpg) on many sections of the route.

Audi's Clean Diesel A3 Drives Halfway Across America on 46 MPG

DENVER, Col. ,  Oct 14, 2008  -  After driving over 2,800 miles and covering half of the United States, Audi's TDI clean diesel vehicles are passing the real world endurance test by posting admirable fuel efficiency numbers. With about 2,000 miles left in Audi's cross country Mileage Marathon, the Audi A3 TDI has averaged 46 mpg over the entire drive, the Audi A4 vehicles have averaged 39 mpg, and the Audi Q5 TDI vehicles averaged 33 mpg. The Audi Q7 TDI vehicles, clean diesel SUVs which will be the first TDI vehicles available in the Unites States early next year, averaged an excellent 28 mpg over the first two legs.

Ingolstadt/Denver ,  Oct 14, 2008  -  As the Audi Mileage Marathon progresses, TDI technology continues to demonstrate its exceptionally efficient use of fuel. With more than half of the 8,000-kilometer (4,971-mile) route now completed, 90 drivers from twelve countries have already driven the 23-vehicle fleet. The best economy figures for the Audi Q5 are particularly impressive: despite the long distances and high average speeds, this model with its 3.0-liter TDI engine has recorded a fuel consumption of only 6.2 to 6.5 liters per 100 kilometers (37.94 to 36.19 US mpg) on most of the stages.

AUDI REPORTS SEPTEMBER SALES

HERNDON, Va. ,  Oct 1, 2008  -  Audi of America announced today auto sales for the month of September totaling 7,584, a decrease of 5.4% from last year’s figures. Audi new vehicle sales fell 3.9% year-to-date as the company faces stronger economic headwinds.  Audi Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) sales decreased by 10.6% compared to last year’s September figures, although sales continued to grow year-over-year at 31.0%.
