Audi of America today introduced the 2013 Audi A8 3.0T at the Detroit North American International Auto Show. Featuring a supercharged V6 engine, the A8 3.0T delivers 333 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque, but with great efficiency.

The new Audi S8 brings a new level of refined performance to the successful flagship Audi A8 lineup, while advancing the Audi S8 lineage into its third generation. Building on the already agile A8, which utilizes Audi ASF® space frame technology to achieve a lightweight vehicle chassis, the S8 delivers more performance through its new 4.0 liter twin-turbo engine, responsive air suspension, high performance brake system and performance design elements.

The new Audi S8 is a luxury sedan with superior dynamics. Its newly developed 4.0 TFSI develops an impressive 382 kW (520 hp), but consumes just 10.2 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers (23.06 US mpg) – thanks in part to new cylinder on demand technology.

Audi is expanding its engine lineup with a new, high-performance gasoline engine. The 4.0 TFSI, which is used in slightly different configurations in the S6, S6 Avant, S7 and S8, develops between 420 hp and 520 hp, and as much as 479.42 lb-ft of torque.

The A8 and the long-wheelbase A8 L are at the front of the luxury category. The Audi flagship impresses with a lightweight aluminum body, powerful and highly efficient engines, the user-friendly MMI operating system and a luxurious interior.

At the Frankfurt Motor Show Audi is showcasing a small-series version of the A8 L W12 that is aimed at an exclusive group of connoisseurs. The sedan, being marketed under the “Audi exclusive concept” label, presents an exclusively finished interior.

Scheduled to launch in 2012, the Audi A8 hybrid combines the best of two worlds. Its gasoline engine – a 2.0 TFSI – and an electric motor develop peak output of 180 kW (245 hp) and 480 Nm (345.03 lb-ft) of torque for short periods of time.

Audi continues to increase the efficiency of its engines. The new 4.0 TFSI, a powerful V8 with twin turbochargers, is equipped with “cylinder on demand” technology. When operating at part load, four of its cylinders are deactivated.

Audi will present its new S models for the first time at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show (IAA). These models are characterized by power combined with appropriately low fuel consumption.
