Audi is expanding its engine lineup with a new, high-performance gasoline engine. The 4.0 TFSI, which is used in slightly different configurations in the S6, S6 Avant, S7 and S8, develops between 420 hp and 520 hp, and as much as 479.42 lb-ft of torque.

Audi today announced that pricing for the new 2011 R8 Spyder 5.2 quattro® supercar will begin at $162,700 with the first of the hand-assembled models reaching U.S. showrooms as soon as next month.

The Audi TT RS, the top-of-the-range TT model, can now also be ordered with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. This enables the purist driving machine, which was developed by quattro GmbH, to make quite an impression with lightning-fast gear changes and a level of efficiency that is pioneering in its class. The TT RS Coupé consumes an average of 8.5 liters (27.67 US mpg) of fuel per 100 km and emits just 197 g/km (317.04 g/mile) of CO2.

The hopes of American sports car enthusiasts will be realized. Audi announced today that it is bringing the 360-horsepower Audi TT RS coupe to the U.S. market by the third quarter of 2011.

In a unanimous vote, Esquire magazine today named the 2010 Audi S4 as the “2010 Esquire Car of the Year.” The 2010 Audi S4 rose above the competition to claim the top spot after a vigorous six-month test drive by Esquire drivers.

The Audi A5/S5 coupe, the Audi Q5 crossover and Audi Q7 rank at the top of the premium coupe and luxury Crossover / SUV categories in the newly released Strategic Vision Inc. 2010 Total Quality Index.
